Maud Fontenoy is the first woman who crossed rowing the North Atlantic Ocean from West to East.

Mercator Ocean congratulates the sailor Maud Fontenoy. She's arrived on Thursday, the 9 October 2003 at the spanish port "La Coruna" at 4h15. She crossed the North Atlantic Ocean rowing was proud of it.

All the Mercator team was involved to deliver daily forecast charts from the Mercator high resolution system, helping Maud to find the best route.
