These pages are written by Mercator forecast team members. This a new job aiming to "human interpretation" of the numerical model output.

But oceanography is not meteorology! Forecast meteorologists translate numerical output in a "sensible weather" (is the weather fine? is it hot? Is it windy or cloudy?) while "forecast oceanists" must deal with austere numerical fields of forecast variables!
